Dr. Wassim Jomaa is an Assistant Professor and Research Director at the Higher Institute of Music of Sousse, University of Sousse, Tunisia, where he has been teaching and directing research in musicology (Psychology of music and neurosciences) since September 2008. He also serves as the Head of Central Administration and Head of the Department of Music and New Technologies since April 2022, overseeing administrative management and departmental development.​
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Jomaa is the Director of the DGSE Program, funded by the World Bank, focusing on strategic management for institutions. He also leads the Career and Skills Certification Center (4C) at the Higher Institute of Music of Sousse, promoting professional development and skills certification.​
Dr. Jomaa is the founder and coordinator of the professional Master's program in Music Therapy, co-constructed with the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse since 2020. This pioneering program, the first of its kind in the Arab world, integrates music therapy into medical education and practice.
His international engagement includes coordinating several projects such as "Healing" and "Cosmo," which focus on integrating art therapy into higher education curricula. He has also served as a peer reviewer and accreditor for quality improvement and accreditation in the higher education sector, notably with Music Quality Enhancement (MusiQuE).​
Dr. Jomaa is a certified Lead Auditor for Educational Organization Management Systems, holding ISO 21001:2018 certification. His research interests encompass cultural management, cognitive and social psychology of music, and music therapy.
Beyond academia, he practices as a music therapist and hypnotherapist, utilizing music and hypnosis to enhance emotional and mental well-being.
